42nd ANNUAL ANTIQUE PEDDLERS' FAIR FOLSOM SUNDAY, SEPT. 20, 2009 -- Rain or Shine! Local antique collectors and visitors will be joined by antique enthusiasts from Northern and Central California when the Folsom Historic District Association hosts their 42nd Annual Antique Peddlers' Fair on Sunday, September 20. Thousands of shoppers will fill the four-block historic district for this popular event. Many longtime collectors start their search early by flashlight. SHOW HOURS: 8AM - 4PM FREE ADMISSION $2.00 PARKING ALL DAY IN FOLSOM'S NEW MULTI-STORY PARKING GARAGE AT THE FOOT OF SUTTER STREET. 100% of funds raised go to local non profits. Free parking available in some Historic District lots and on perimeter streets. FREE LIGHT RAIL PASSES TO SHOW Shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of convenient free light rail service from any Regional Transit station to and from Sutter Street on September 20. Light Rail tickets are available from Sutter St. merchants beginning September 1st. For more information on obtaining advance tickets, email us at: tbcashows@aol.com WHAT TO EXPECT The upcoming Antique Fair will feature four blocks filled with a wide range of antique and collectible merchandise: Glass, china, pottery and porcelain, including Depression Glass, elegant glass of the depression era, American pattern glass, California pottery, Hummels, Old Stein Budweiser items, and Limoges; American and European furniture, including Hoosier cabinets, pie cupboards, bookcases, bedroom suites, and dining sets; Country and Primitives, including ice cream and Bakelite gaming items, old farm equipment, tools, and trunks; Estate and vintage jewelry, watches and accessories; Paper Collectibles, including post cards, books, old sheet music, sports and movie memorabilia, and advertising signs; Prints and paintings; Clothing and Textiles, including vintage furs and linens; silver and silverplate; and musical memorabilia including hand-crank phonographs and records (78 & LP.) GREAT FOOD AND LIVE ENTERTAINMENT AT FOLSOM'S ANTIQUE PEDDLERS’ FAIR A Food and Entertainment Court will offer shoppers a great selection of food and beverages. Weary shoppers may take a break a seating area adjacent to live entertainment. Featured performers will be local favorites PROXY (formerly Captain and the Diva), a popular local group known for their superb renditions of classic hits, authentically covering every style from the early rock of the 50's right up to present day adult contemporary. Proxy will perform from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the 800 block of Sutter Street near Decatur across from Old Europe Restaurant. Also returning this Spring is OSCAR REYNOLDS, Bolivian master flutist and guitarist. A leading advocate and ambassador of his native country’s music, this multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer, flute-maker, and composer originally from La Paz, Bolivia has a unique musical style that is distinctly Bolivian combined with Afro-Andean and Flamenco influences. Oscar Reynolds will perform throughout the day in the 700 block of Sutter Street across from the Hacienda del Rio. Food and Entertainment Courts as well as food service throughout Sutter Street will offer shoppers a great selection from breakfast burritos and Belgian waffles to a variety of barbecued and grilled items to tempting snacks such as Kettlecorn, ice cream, waffle cones, shave ice, roasted nuts, tempting desserts, & plenty of hot and cold drinks including espresso and smoothies, and for the discriminating canine shopper, gourmet dog treats. Our younger shoppers will want to visit LILLIE, LULU AND FRIENDS, our face painter, who will be located in the 700 Block of Sutter Street all day! ANTIQUE APPRAISALS ALL DAY GARY COX, The “Antiques Answer Man”, will be set up in the 800 block of Sutter Street near the Folsom History Museum. Mr. Cox is well known locally for his work with the Crocker Museum, KVIE’s Central Valley Chronicles and local historical societies. Mr. Cox appears annually with the Folsom History Museum’s Evaluation Day and is a frequent appraiser with Twin Bridges Appraisers’ Panels. Verbal appraisals will be available for $5 per item. Mr. Cox will be available as well to arrange for a formal appraisal of individual items or estates for insurance purposes or for sale. QUALITY GLASS AND CHINA REPAIR BY MIRACLE GLASS REPAIR Judy and Kenny Lang of Miracle Glass Repair will be at this event for pick up and drop off of your damaged glass and china. Their booth will be located in the 600 block of Sutter St. between Riley and Scott.
